At LEMANS PROTOTYPES , development is now underway on the new LMP1000 ROADSTER component kit car. The LMP1000R is a purpose built street legal kit car from a ground up design. The LMP1000R will be something you have never seen before.

The chassis for the LMP1000R is a fully mig welded tubular frame design. Much of the original design was completed at CSC RACING INC. CSC Racing is North America's single largest manufacturer of full chassis kits for oval track and road course racing. CSC Racing also specializes in the design and fabrication of Chassis's for the component car industry made possible using the latest in computer aided design technology. CSC Racing is meticulous in the persuit of quality in design and the principle that "form" should always follow "function" . CSC Racing is a family owned business, and all their clients and customers are treated as members of the CSC family. The LMP1000R will accomodate both a driver and passenger.

The LMP1000R is available as a kit (3 stages) or as a turnkey minus.
How to register a component/kit car. The car is supplied with a bill of sale, a 17 digit VIN number, and an MSO (Manufacturer's Statement of Origin). Each State has specific requirements with regard to the registration which is dependant on your choice of engine. Component/Kit cars are classified as "Specially Constructed Vehicles" or "Kit Cars". A specially constructed vehicle is a vehicle that is built for private use. These vehicles can be built from a kit, new or used parts, or a combination of new or used parts. The builder is required to keep all receipts basically to establish clear ownership of the car. Please contact your local DMV or MOT office to verify the requirements for your State or Province.

The body of the LMP1000R is in the final stages of design and fabrication. Bill Hough, founder and owner of HOUGH COMPOSITES, a specialist in composite kit car and race car body design and mold fabricatiion, is fabricating the master body molds and body for the LMP1000R . Bill has a wealth of experience in the componet/kit car industry for over 30 years and has worked in association with FACTORY FIVE RACING (Cobra, Daytona Coupe), DRAGON MOTORSPORTS (Dragon Roadster) among other original projects. Bill is an all around fantastic guy and is a specialist in pretty much everything to do with competition cars and kit cars.
Engine: Powering the LMP1000R is GM's latest small block creation - the 6.2 liter LS3 - a continuation of the industry leading V8 engines from GM Performance Powertrains - Crate Engines. The LS3 kicks out 430 horse power and 424 ft. lbs. of torque.
It's a brute of a small block with 376 ready cubes at your beckon call.
The LS3 series of engines from GM have broken new ground for efficiency and performance from a pushrod platform engine.
Red line for the LS3 comes at 6600 RPM, and you get there very quickly.
With a high-tech GM foundation, aluminum block, and high flowing rectangular-port heads, the LS3 is the new standard in the small block world.
Transmission: Four speed transmission 4L65E (LS-series V8). The 4L65E is the latest creation from GM Hydramatic Motorsports.
It is a four speed, offering all the latest heavy duty components to stand up to the power of the LS3 engines. The 4L65E offers optimized performance, fuel economy and increased durability. This state-of-the-art transmssion features the latest heavy duty components and high tech electronic controls. The electronics controlling the LS3 engine also manages the 4L65E shift points, providing unparalleled performance.

DIGITAL DASH: The DIGIDASH digital dash display is for discerning road users who demand more information and functionality than a traditional set of instruments can provide. Combining all the usual gauge functions with a host of additional features in one light weight display. Can be mounted on the dash or on the steering wheel. The digital dash will enhance the cockpit of your LMP1000 Roadster.
PADDLE SHIFTER: The MASTERSHIFT paddle shifter enables you to shift your automatic or manual transmission while leaving your hand on the steering wheel. It provides a quick and reliable electronically controlled movement of the transmssion shift lever. The shift unit is coupled to the transmssion through a standard shift cable. Supports all GM automatic and standard performance transmssions.
IGNITION: The RACESPEX ignition control is for the serious driver. To start the car, just insert your key, lift the ignition switch, and push the start button.
EXHAUST CUTOUT: The MCCORD exhaust cutout is an electronically activated cutout. You can open or close the exhaust at the flip of a switch. Closed on the road or open on the track.
BODYWORK LATCHES: The new AEROCATCH 3 is the latest in body panel tension latches and offers an aerodynamic, high strenght and light weight latch for fastening body panels together.
